Techniques I Intend to Incorporate or Challenge

From this short film, I have learned the importance of subtle tension-building rather than relying on predictable thriller tropes. I intend to incorporate:

  • The use of close-ups to emphasise emotion

  • Strategic silence to heighten discomfort

  • A carefully paced narrative that builds gradually

However, I would avoid making the ending overly ambiguous to the point of confusion. While open endings can be powerful, clarity of theme is essential to ensure the audience leaves with a strong emotional impression rather than uncertainty without purpose.

Overall, this analysis demonstrates how genre conventions, narrative structure, and technical elements work together to construct meaning. The film highlights the effectiveness of psychological tension and controlled pacing in engaging an audience within a short runtime.

Ahoy mateys! It’s Neha—now equipped with a new personality and officially in 12th grade. It's crazy to think I’ve finally reached the year that once felt galaxies away; time is sprinting, and honestly, post-2020 nothing feels real anymore. Reclaiming Momentum: My Journey as Director

It had first been reported that the Media Studies students were divided into two teams, with Sabari and I in one team and Sai Sahanaa and Akhilesh in the other. I hoped to regain momentum and restore the original pace of our pre-production process; however, I had taken a long break in between and had fallen slightly behind. Later, schedules changed, and we were reassigned into a single team, sharing duties and responsibilities equally and contributing to every aspect of the production.
