First Narrative Discussion

 The story discussion begins with our attempt to find a suitable narrative for AS level because we wanted to create something special but we faced difficulties doing so. The school environment made me unwilling to film another project because I already possessed complete experience but I had to work with the available locations and limited guidance. The story starts with a lonely boy who gets ignored by everyone but then turns into a dirty hacker who uses his website to reveal people's most private secrets. The moment I heard this my mind immediately took me back to the book One Of Us Is Lying which has the similar plotline, but. The film demands advanced skills which high school students cannot yet handle.


THE FINAL SCRIPT:


Then we realised that the number of actors required continued growing and we thought what effort they put into the mind set and the time they would have to film it, to make it natural as well as it has to be good enough that we can get good scores. Furthermore, because the board exams season is just around the corner it was practically impossible to follow. Eventually we arrived at the conclusion that something realistic in the society, such as how toppers are supposed to always achieve success in life and never encounter one failure, but when a problem child has a reputation, they label them as a troublemaker or may not be willing to give the same seriousness to this student either.

Set Brief

There are definitely more options beyond AS level, but instead of venturing into a new branch, I’m more drawn to what I’ve already been focusing on—filmmaking. Even if what we did in AS was just a pinch of the real deal, I’m now moving up to the next level: creating a short film . Apparently, this will be presented at a film festival. New Lens, New Level

Ahoy mateys! It’s Neha—now equipped with a new personality and officially in 12th grade. It's crazy to think I’ve finally reached the year that once felt galaxies away; time is sprinting, and honestly, post-2020 nothing feels real anymore. The whirlwind that was AS level gave me experiences I know will be my secret weapons moving forward. Even though we each had specific roles, we somehow ended up becoming all-rounders—helping each other, problem-solving, and learning as we went. After realizing how much work goes into a two-minute film opening, I think my mind is at least somewhat prepared for what’s coming next (…hopefully). Every step has been a new learning curve, and I’m genuinely excited to start this chapter—especially because it means bringing our laptops to school, which low-key feels empowering. Reclaiming Momentum: My Journey as Director

It had first been reported that the Media Studies students were divided into two teams, with Sabari and I in one team and Sai Sahanaa and Akhilesh in the other. I hoped to regain momentum and restore the original pace of our pre-production process; however, I had taken a long break in between and had fallen slightly behind. Later, schedules changed, and we were reassigned into a single team, sharing duties and responsibilities equally and contributing to every aspect of the production. To begin with, I continued in the same role I undertook during my AS Level project—Director. However, this time my responsibilities extended further, as I was in charge of developing the narrative script, drafting and sketching the shot list, and visualising how each scene should be portrayed and performed.
